Basil Vodka Gimlet

INGREDIENTS

5 or 6 large basil leaves (plus one for garnish)

1 oz. fresh lime juice

½ oz. simple syrup

3 ½ oz. Caryopsis Vodka

Optional garnish: basil leaf

INSTRUCTIONS

Place the lime juice and the basil into a cocktail shaker and muddle thoroughly. Add the simple syrup and vodka. Then fill with ice cubes to the surface of the liquid. Shake vigorously until the shaker is frosty. Double strain into a martini glass, and garnish. Serve immediately.
